Tent Platform!
Ah the first overnighter at Buzzard's Peak, 3 overnights actually. I'm just going to touch on the highlights and post more later, just too tired right now.
Casino
The Mrs. - won $50 on a slot machine
The Mr. - lost $ on slot machine...we could've have saved 2 hours if I'd just gave her the cash upfront.
Wildlife seen/heard:
Elk - lots, off the highway driving there
Deer - a doe, maybe like 30 feet away in camp for like a good 10 minutes
Chipmunk(s?) - everywhere, all day long
Real Native squirrels not the gray imported kind - in a tree fighting
Buzzards - 8+ circling, waiting for power tool accidents
Bald Eagle - tree top
Ring Neck doves - everywhere all day long
Hummingbirds - everywhere all day long
and many unknown species of birds that whistle, sing and chirp.
And the whole purpose of the trip was to build our platform for tent which we are nigh getting and build we did. It's all done, 12x16, solid, level and pretty dang professional looking. Pictures have to wait because we forgot the camera.
